We started saying this around the office last week, and sometimes everyone needs to. Whether its to your boss, your friend, your lover, your hater, your p.o., your mother, father, ex girlfriend, jumpoff, or whoever....say to them, "Can I Live". Plain and simple. Just ask Jigga man below

Song of the Summer?
So get from under your rock and listen to this track "Forever". We got Drake holding his own with Eminem, Kanye, and Weezy. personally I have NO IDEA what Wayne is rapping about here. And I'm very surprised this is from the Lebron movie coming out and Jay-Z is no where on the track. Must mean Jay has his own track on it of even more epic stature.

White Boys Like Black Girls
the new Asher Roth video for "She Don't Wanna Man" featuring Keri Hilson dropped yesterday. Personally I was hoping this would be the next single they went with. I think its a great club song and hopefully it catches on. I've dropped it a few times when djing and it got a good response. Check it out below.

Is She Back?
So Mya is supposed to be on the next Dancing With The Stars. Naturally a new video of hers drops so I am assuming she is using this as her platform to come back out and not make a transition to something else in life, like full time actress or something. I'm posting the video below and its not a bad song. The only thing I am wondering is who is picking Mya's beats??? The song (and video) remind me of Destiny Child's Soldier. Similar concepts in the song and the video. But this song is definitely not going to get the love DC got, and its really just a matter of the beat in my opinion.

Are You New Here?
So the Run This Town video leaked, aired early in Germany, whatever, here it is for your enjoyment below. Personally its just ok t me. The way it was hyped you thought it was the second coming of the Hate Me Now video or something. I find it weird that there is no one from the Roc in this except 'Ye. Who would have guessed that the dude with pink polos and a teddy bear would be the future of the R-O-C. I mean Jay could at least give Bleek a cameo somewhere. But I guess he's on in his will somewhere

Who Did It Better?
I decided to post 2 video clips of remakes of some of our favorite hip hop songs. The Fray takes on Kanye's Heartless. And Framing Hanley takes on Wayne's Lollipop (pause). The Fray version is growing on me while I've been a fan of the Framing Hanley track for awhile. Overall I think both groups did justice to the songs. I don't think rappers could do the same to their songs though. Thoughts?

What Does It All Mean?
So yesterday, black sports fan got their wish. Michael Vick signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. I for one was happy. It was good to see someone who I think got a bad rap, serve his time and at least be able to make a comeback. Going beyond that, I think as an African American community, we need to thank Commissioner Goodell for the message he is sending. Most fans say Goodell is a prick and handing out harsh punishments, such as Vick's suspension from the league, Pacman Jone's suspension from the league, and most recently Dante Stallworth's one year suspension. And yes I agree to an extent, the rulings were harsh. But today, I sort of understand them.
Let's look at Vick. I understand the severity of his case. I understand we cannot be cruel to animals. But Vick kills some dogs (not trying to downplay his case) and gets 2 years, where as Stallworth kills a man and only does 2 months in jail??? So now the lives of our house pets are more significant than humans? How could we allow a murderer to play football, and not a man who served his time and lost just about everything he had, over mistreating some dogs? It just didn't seem right. A family lost a member. A provider, a son, and a father. Not just someone who would play fetch and get the paper.
To me, Vick's reinstatement teaches young incarcerated men that there is a possiblity of coming out of jail and being a contributing part of society. Yes Vick is a special situation, but that does not take away from the possibility that anyone can be more than just a statistic after conviction.
In the case of Stallworth, his suspension teaches young aspiring NFL athletes that the NFL is serious about upholding its image. It will not be a league of thugs, hoodlums, and convicts.

Put The Camera Down
I really need Stephon Marbury to get some friends that will tell him to stay away from anything that captures video and sound. It's like the internet is going to be the downfall of his life right now Whats next? Is he going to get on twitter and have beef with Shaq? I really thought he got his life together this past season in Boston. Guess not.
Someone save him

He's Leaving
Lebron says he's keeping his options open. In my opinion, no ring last year = lebron leaves. No ring this year with Shaq = lebron DEF leaves

It Was All Good Just A Week Ago
I predicted Fabolous would do 75K. I said 75K because I was hoping he would at least double that and make me look bad. Well...I still look good. Fab only moved 98K units. Not bad these days, but its a shame because the album is actually good. Maybe I'll post the tracks on imeem and add to the blog. Til then, check him out on Alexa Chung below. I don't really get this Alexa Chung chick, but everyone seems to keep going on her show....
